Overview

São Tomé and Príncipe is covered by the OHCHR Regional Office for Central Africa (CARO)/UN Centre for Human Rights and Democracy in Central Africa. The Office supports the promotion and protection of human rights and democracy through research, advocacy, human rights mainstreaming, advisory services and technical cooperation to national authorities, national human rights institutions, civil society, and international and regional organizations. It also analyzes and monitors the human rights situation, informing on trends, and promoting prevention.
