Special Rapporteur engaged in discussions with Israel, where the Permanent Mission asked for the exact scope of the themes to be discussed during the visit (anticipating Israel annexation of OPT to be one of the areas). Main issue of discussion is activities of military waste in OPT, and release of industrial waste from Israel into OPT. Special Rapporteur is not obliged to share all the information on the scope of the visit at the onset. General information was provided to the Permanent Mission. No response was received after these discussions.

Japan 2019  Reminder sent in February 2019. The Special Rapporteur held discussions with the Government on various occasions including at the sidelines of the Human Rights Council, concerning a visit to among other issues explore the decontamination efforts following the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant explosion. The Special Rapporteur exchanged letters on various issues concerning the decontamination process, most recently in 2020 concerning the proposed release of radioactive wastewater in the ocean.
