National Mechanisms for Reporting and Follow-up: A Study of State Engagement with International Human Rights Mechanisms

Published

01 June 2016

This Study, which complements the Practical Guide to Effective State Engagement with International Human Rights Mechanisms, presents the findings of OHCHR research on national mechanisms for reporting and follow-up. It seeks to inform and provide States and other stakeholders with an analysis of existing practices. It may assist States in choosing the optimal configuration and model for their own national mechanism for reporting to the treaty bodies and the universal periodic review, as well as for engaging with special procedures and facilitating follow-up to recommendations and decisions of all regional and international human rights mechanisms.
