HIGH COMMISSIONER FOR HUMAN RIGHTS TO VISIT HONG KONG
United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Mary Robinson will visit Hong Kong on 29 February for a first-hand assessment of the situation in the Special Administrative Region of China.
During the visit, her first to Hong Kong as High Commissioner, Mrs. Robinson will meet Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa as well as Hong Kong’s Secretaries for Justice, Home Affairs and Security; the Solicitor General, and the Deputy Secretary for Constitutional Affairs.
Before leaving Hong Kong for Beijing on the evening of 29 February, Mrs. Robinson will also meet with members of the Legislative Council and with representatives of non-governmental organizations.
