BACKGROUND

Chepang population is spread across Makawanpur, Dhading, Chitwan, Gorkha, Lamjung and Tanahu districts.The language of Chepang people belongs to Tibeto-Burman language family. Nearly 70 per cent of Chepang speak mother tongue. The language has no written script. The UDHR translation has been recorded in Devnagari script.
