Summary

The Working Group of Experts on People of African Descent visited Peru from 25 February to 4 March 2020. In the present report, the Working Group describes the current legal, institutional and policy framework and the measures taken to prevent the racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia, Afrophobia and related intolerance that people of African descent face in Peru, underscoring positive developments and gaps in implementation. The Working Group also highlights good practices and the main challenges it identified, and makes concrete recommendations.
