UN Committee on Migrant Workers to review Uruguay, Kyrgyzstan, and Sao Tome and Principe

GENEVA (24 November 2023) - The UN Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families (CMW) will hold its latest session from 27 November to 8 December, during which it will review Uruguay, Kyrgyzstan and Sao Tome and Principe.

The three countries are among the 59 States parties to the International Convention on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of Their Families. They are required to undergo regular reviews by the Committee of 14 independent international experts on how they are implementing the Convention.

The Committee, which has received respective country reports as well as submissions from national human rights institutions and non-governmental organisations, will discuss a range of issues in public dialogues with the four State delegations on the following dates at Geneva time:

Uruguay
28 November 10:00 - 13:00
28 November 15:00 - 18:00

Kyrgyzstan
29 November 15:00 - 18:00
30 November 10:00 - 13:00

Sao Tome and Principe
30 November 15:00 - 17:00
1 December 10:00 - 12:00
1 December 15:00 - 17:00
