First meeting of the sixty-second session of the Commission on Human Rights (16 January 2006)
On 15 March 2006, the General Assembly adopted resolution A/RES/60/251 to establish the Human Rights Council. On 27 March 2006, the Commission on Human Rights concluded its sixty-second and final session.

The first meeting of the sixty-second session of the Commission on Human Rights was convened at 10.30 a.m. on Monday, 16 January 2006, in Conference Room XVIII of the Palais des Nations in order to elect the Bureau of the sixty-second session.
